I research microplastics in the Western Antarctic Peninsula ecosystem. This research includes determining abundance and type of microplastics present in the marine environment and food web pathways of these anthropogenic contaminants. My research is in collaboration with the Antarctic Ecosystem Research Division at the Southwest Fisheries Science Center, and supported, in part, by the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
