Oceans and Atmosphere

I study the ability of the ocean to store the excess carbon that human activity is adding to the atmosphere. I want to understand how variability in ocean circulation may be connected to variability in the uptake and storage of carbon at depth. I am focusing on the polar North Atlantic and aspire to expand these questions to the Southern Ocean later in my PhD.
